dogs in cartoons
Cartoons and comic strips are the perfect vehicles for wisecracking canines, that incidentally show remarkable insight into human foibles, for venting their take on the world. They are almost always cute to look at, even when a bit challenged on the gorgeous side, they are still cute. But don't be fooled underneath that fluffy demeanor often lurks a sharp wit. They can be hilariously funny, yet sometimes deep and meaningful pondering the injustice of it all and in turn making us wonder. Starting our list of irreverent hounds are Spitz, Plisch and Plum, the cheeky creations of 19th century German artist, poet and inventor of the comic strip, Wilhelm Busch.
